What is Woke?

I just figured out what “woke” means. “Woke” is what happens when “you get woke up.”  It is that groggy confused state between sleeping and being awake.

A “woke” Vermont school just sent a letter to parents that they will no longer refer to the students as boys and girls. They will call them “persons who produce sperm and persons who produce eggs.” Well, damn, that’s what those of us who are awake have been telling them.

Boys produce sperm and girls produce eggs. What is a woman? They don’t know but we do. A woman is a person with XX chromosomes who usually can produce eggs as an adult. There are also other delightful characteristics of a woman but that covers the biggie.

BUT there is more to a woman than just producing eggs and offspring. And not all women produce eggs just as all men don’t produce sperm.

In Vermont I guess they do sperm counts to determine if a boy-looking creature is actually what a boy was once. Ditto for girls.

In their Groggy state of Wokeness they don’t understand that words like “boy and girl” are used instead of the full definition for simplicity.

The teachers now have to say “Good Morning, persons who produce sperm and persons who produce eggs.”  This will be really awkward in elementary school where half of the students haven’t reached puberty and don’t “produce” anything.

Of course their real reason isn’t accuracy. What they really want is to have a reason for “the Gub-mint” to discuss sex with children.

According to the “Woke-sters” logic, there have to be at least six categories of what was formerly “boys and girls.” You must have Pre-persons who may produce sperm or eggs, Persons who produce sperm or eggs, and Post-persons who no longer produce sperm or eggs.  THEN we will need another category or two for those persons who never produce sperm or eggs.

THEY Did This

Most of us learned this in kindergarten. If you push anyone hard enough they will push back. This even happens on the swing set. You push, it comes back. Every time.  The anti-(any and everything historic) folks are seeing that now.

Recently I have noticed multiple new extra large Confederate Flags.  They are located on private property and are often strategically placed for maximum visibility.  You can credit the anti-history cancel culture folks for this.

They took away statues, names and rewrote history.  Now, apparently some folks are pushing back. They even canceled one of my personal heroes, Robert E. Lee, although they can’t find a single thing he did wrong except for being on the losing side of the war.

For the record, Lee opposed slavery. He joined the South because the North attacked the South which then had more right to secede than the colonies did in 1776.

I am not a big fan of flying the Confederate flag, although I believe people have the right to do so. Thirty years ago I wrote an article suggesting retiring the Confederate Battle Flag except in historic context and replacing it with the “Confederate Bloodstained Banner” which has the battle flag on a white field with a red bar across the end.

My thoughts then were the rectangular Battle Flag is a perversion of the Confederate Flag, is not an accurate Confederate flag and was being used by hate groups. Those who wanted to celebrate “history not hate” could show that using a historically correct flag and separate themselves from the hate groups.

However, thanks to cancel culture the heritage groups and the hate groups are pushing back.

The Prudential Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, just referred to protecting LGBTQI Plus Groups. I finally figured out what all of the letters stand for, but what the heck is a Plus?

I need to know. I may want to identify as a Plus. How will I know if I am one if no one knows what a Plus is?
