Trust the Experts

For the past few years we have been repeatedly told to “trust the experts.”  Why?  The experts appear to be wrong more often than I.  I trust the facts, not some expert’s analysis of the facts. For every expert opinion there is another expert who has the opposing opinion.

“Three out of four doctors agree” means another doctor doesn’t.

As someone once told me “a spurt is a drip of water under pressure, an ex is a has-been so an expert is a “has-been drip under pressure.”

Every expert makes mistakes. Every expert is wrong occasionally.  No expert is always right.

So, tell me again, why should I trust the experts?

Equal Justice

Justice is not blind, she is a Democrat.

That is wrong. I don’t want Lady Justice to be either Democrat or Republican, I want her to be blind.

I keep seeing news commentators on the national news crowing that former President Donald Trump will be indicted and arrested this week. They are gleeful. My question is why? Why is it so important to these people that Trump is charged? What will it accomplish?

I haven’t heard a single person say, “This is the crime Trump committed, here is the evidence, and then charge him.”  They don’t care what he is charged with they just want him convicted of something, convicted of anything.

Nobody is above the law, not me, not you, not Donald J. Trump, not Joe Biden, not Hunter Biden, not Hillary Clinton, not Bill Clinton, not anybody.

Every one of these people (including you and me) have apparently committed crimes, some misdemeanors, some felonies. So far none of them have been charged, tried and convicted.  Why not?

Lady Justice is supposed to be blind. She isn’t supposed to care about anything but the evidence. I have watched and read hundreds of hours of comments from people who support convicting Trump. Not one of them cares what, if anything, he did. They just want him convicted; of anything. They don’t care about evidence, they just want him convicted. They just want it illegal to be Donald Trump.

The guy prosecuting Trump campaigned on charging and convicting Trump. That alone should result in a mistrial. How can someone who doesn’t have the evidence available to him make that promise?  He documented that he has an agenda and isn’t interested in justice.

He is also trying Trump in a district that voted 90 percent against Trump. If that isn’t a setup what is?

Imagine that Bill Clinton paid a hooker.  If the claims are true, that is what Trump did.  Why aren’t the claims treated the same?  Eric Swalwell was having sex with a Chinese spy named Fang Fang.  If she was getting paid for that, that makes her a hooker.  Why wasn’t Swalwell charged?

So far, we know for a fact that Trump, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and others had classified documents in their possession.  Notice the difference in how each was handled.

Notice the difference between the “mostly peaceful” rioters who attempted to burn a federal courthouse, killed, attacked and looted and the mostly peaceful protestors who toured the Capitol on January 6.

At this point, despite the constant references to “The Insurrection” not a single person has been charged with insurrection. Why not?

I want those who broke the law to be charged, tried, and if guilty, sentenced, but for the crime they committed.  I don’t care if it was January 6, or Groundhog Day, or Saint Patrick’s Day or any other day. No one should be charged with a crime without evidence. Certainly no one should be convicted without evidence. 

The newly released Capitol videos from January 6 appear to show “The Q-Anon Shaman” did not commit a crime, but he was tried and convicted.  If there is actual evidence of his guilt it should be released. He was given almost four years in prison for (according to the videos) at most trespassing.

What about the criminals who set fire to Saint John’s Church during a protest against Trump?  If January 6 was an insurrection so was that.

Why weren’t those criminals charged?

Finally it IS a crime to attempt to convict someone without evidence of a crime. It is a crime to withhold evidence from the defense council.

Every one of the prosecutors who have done that should be charged.  

We must give Lady Justice back her blindfold.

I Wonder…

I wonder what would happen if in every trial, the jurors didn’t know the name, race, sex and age of the defendant.  None of that has any bearing on the evidence anyway.  Suppose all of those references were redacted and the jury was presented with nothing but the evidence.   Suppose Jacob Chansley wasn’t shown dressed in horns, furs, with no shirt and tattoos showing. Suppose he was shown in a business suit, suppose no pictures were shown at all, would that have made a difference in the outcome of his trial?  I’d bet on it.

It certainly isn’t a crime in America to dress funny.

I Don’t Like Donald Trump

I don’t like Donald Trump, I’ve never liked Donald Trump but on the  other hand I think  he  did a pretty good job as President.

I also don’t like Joe Biden, I’ve never liked Joe Biden and I don’t think he has done a good job. That being said I don’t hate either of them.

I do hate some of the decisions Biden has made and I do hate some of the decisions Trump made. For that matter I hate some of the decisions Obama made, and some of the decisions Bush made and some of the decisions every president has made.

When I vote I will vote for the person who I believe will make decisions I won’t hate for the most part.
