Tractor Trailer Overturns, Catches on Fire

SOUTH HILL – Multiple area emergency services departments responded to a scary accident last week involving tractor trailers on Interstate 85.

The South Hill Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched on January 23 to a motor vehicle accident involving a pair of tractor trailers. The accident occurred when a pair of tractor trailers struck each other causing one to overturn on the side of the interstate and catch on fire.

Additional departments from Brunswick, Mecklenburg, Alberta, Lawrenceville, the Virginia Department of Transportation and Virginia State Police responded. 

There were no injuries sustained as a result of the accident.

South Hill Volunteer Fire Department stated, “Great teamwork by all members involved.”
