SUV Strikes Parked Car in Monday accident Both vehicles totaled

VICTORIA – Ice and snow in the area through the weekend surprisingly resulted in only a few accidents on the roadways, but there was a crash on Monday morning just after midnight that likely totaled two vehicles.

P--SUV strikes parked car 2 P--SUV strikes parked car 1Victoria Police Chief Keith Phillips was called to the scene of a two-car accident on January 25 at 12:18 a.m. after a pick up truck crashed into a parked car and did significant damage to both vehicles.

The accident took place at 1315 Tidewater Avenue in Victoria when a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Richsean Hawkes went out of control before striking a 2014 Ford Fiesta parked at the location. According to reports, the driver indicated that he believed he had slid on an icy section of road.

The collision luckily did not result in any injuries despite the damage to the vehicles. Chief Phillips cited Hawkes for failure to maintain control of the vehicle.
