CHARLOTTE COURT HOUSE – The Randolph-Henry boys’ basketball teams hosted Central of Lunenburg on Friday night and came away with a sweep. The varsity team had a convincing win that saw the Statesmen dominate and cruise to a 70-37 win. The JV team did not have the offensive numbers of the varsity, but they were strong defensively and won by twenty points in a 42-22 victory.
The varsity team has played well recently including wins over Prince Edward, Nottoway and Lunenburg. In the Nottoway contest R-H got big offensive production from the backcourt as Brenden Francisco and Ryetwon Callaham were the leading scorers. They beat Prince Edward 59-48 at home and got a strong game inside from center Reginald Bullock who scored 13 points. These victories were sandwiched around a pair of losses to Goochland to move the Statesmen to 6-7 on the season.
The JV Statesmen are 2-12 on the year after the win over Central.
