Sheriff Assures Good Community Relations

Dear Editor,

This Press Release is in regards to the Facebook post in which one of my Sergeants commented on by posting emojis. That Sergeant has been demoted and is being required to attend additional Cultural Diversity Classes. This was a serious action which required a serious reprimand. 

This was totally out of character for this Deputy. I have never seen or heard anything from him to indicate any racial tendencies. He loves and gets along well with everyone he encounters. He and I want to apologize for his actions and hope the community will forgive him. 

As public servants, we simply cannot allow this type of behavior. I have always worked hard to bring people together in our county. As Sheriff, I will continue to build relationships and trust with all citizens of the county.
