At 7:55 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018, a tractor trailer hauling grass seed was traveling east on Highway 360 left the highway about half a mile before the Ontario intersection, striking the guard rail, going down an embankment and overturning. The truck struck several large pine trees, ripping the trailer open and spreading boxes of grass seed on the ground. Both the truck and trailer sustained major damage. Virginia State Police Trooper D.B. Meeks, Jr. responded to the accident and reported, “The commercial vehicle was loaded with pallets of grass seed, which had to be unloaded before the tractor-trailer could be uprighted and removed from the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old male, was not injured in the crash. The scene was cleared and all lanes re-opened by 2:10 p.m. “
