PRINCE EDWARD – COVID cases in Prince Edward County continue to rise and in a survey sent home to parents, the majority of parents wished for schools to remain virtual right now. However, the Prince Edward County School Board voted last week to start Option 9 of their hybrid learning plan
Prince Edward County Public School Superintendent Dr. Barbara Johnson offered information and reports to the school board including the results of a survey to parents where the majority answered that they did not plan to send their child/children back to school with some parents still undecided. In the survey of school staff members, the majority also supported remote learning instruction for now.
Under the Option 9 hybrid learning model elementary students (5th and below) return to school Jan. 19. Additional grade levels will be added each week into February.
