Politics Shouldn’t Matter

Politics should neither justify nor excuse an act of violence. One of the stupid Cuomo brothers once said, “Show me where it says protest should be peaceful.”

I looked up several laws regarding the actions at the BLM protests and they were certainly illegal. I emailed Cuomo and he did not respond.

You have to wonder why a BLM riot was legal and a Republican protest was illegal. Before you respond to me with explanations, any protest that includes fires, looting, attacks on people and killing them is a RIOT.

All I want is for Republican and Democrat Protestors and Rioters to be treated the same.

In fact, I want equity and equality. 

Keep Away From Children

Lately I have been carefully reading and researching medications. Yesterday I checked out my over the counter headache pain reliever. I was advised to take two no more than five times a day and the label also said “Keep away from Children.”  That is certainly accurate advice. I believe Children, no matter how wonderful they are or how old they are, are the leading cause of headaches.

Vehicular Homicide

A teenage boy, Cayler Ellingson, was deliberately killed in North Dakota by a 41-year-old man. The killer is out on bail and has only been charged with vehicular homicide.  The killer, Shannon Brandt, reported to police that he hit the boy with his truck because he thought the boy was a rightwing extremist and was going to attack him. Brandt also was intoxicated at the time.

I don’t understand. This is a HATE CRIME. The boy was killed for his political beliefs and because the killer said he was afraid the boy would call in help to hurt him.

That is a ridiculous argument that law enforcement often laughs at. “I thought he was going to hit me so I hit him first.”

The killer deliberately struck and killed an 18-year-old boy over political differences.  Had this happened in Charlottesville, Virginia, it would have been called a hate crime.

Brandt is free on bail. Anyone who even thinks it might be all right to hit and kill someone with their car over political differences or possible future danger is himself a danger to the public. Who else might he feel threatened by?

The most concerning aspect of this is the news coverage, specifically the lack of it. 

Imagine the difference in news coverage if Brandt had been wearing a MAGA hat?

Political Prediction

I just read a political opinion I am going to endorse.  That is, well before the 2024 presidential elections, Kamala Harris will resign from office to accept a high paying and prestigious position elsewhere.

According to the TWENTY-FIFTH AMENDMENT, “Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President, who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.”

If this happens and President Biden leaves office this person will become President with all of the incumbent advantage in the 2024 elections.

This is legal and constitutional and no amount of blustering about an “unelected president” will matter.

If the Republicans take the majority in the upcoming 2022 midterm elections I believe this will occur between the 2022 midterms and January 19, 2023 when the new majority takes office.

It will be interesting to see if this happens.
