PRINCE EDWARD – Prince Edward County Public Schools recently announced that they would start their second semester classes this week virtually and a decision on reopening for in-person classes would come later this month.

The information released through the schools stated, “We are excited to begin second semester classes on Tuesday, January 5.  As determined by the Prince Edward County school board, the first two weeks of instruction will be fully remote for all students, with another reopening decision being made by the board on January 13. Additional reopening information will be released after that meeting.”

The current Option 9 Plan is posted on the Prince Edward County Public Schools’ website on the COVID-19 Alerts & Information page.

Additionally, high school students will be able to pick up 2nd semester schedules and return first semester textbooks and materials on Tuesday, January 5 from 12:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. or Thursday, January 7 from 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. This will be done drive-through style behind the high school both days.
