Jessica Manley, 29, of Charlotte Court House, was driving on Route 59 when she lost control of her 1996 Nissan Sentra when she took her eyes off the road to look back and check on her daughter, who was riding in a car seat at the time of the accident.
According to the investigating officer, Virginia State Trooper Bavely, Ms. Manley over corrected as the car swerved and the vehicle flipped as a result. The vehicle was a total loss; however, both Ms. Manley and her daughter escaped the accident with non-life threatening injuries. “Both were wearing their seat belts, which saved them from serious injury,” Trooper Bavely pointed out.
Ms. Manley was charged with failure to maintain proper control.
