CCRA Set to Kick off Basketball Season This Saturday

The Charlotte County Recreation Association will kick off its first game of the 2014 basketball season on Saturday, January 11 at the Randolph-Henry High School gymnasium.

The first game will start promptly at 10 a.m. and a total of five games will be played throughout the day. For the 13th consecutive year, the CCRA has allowed children between the ages of 7 and 14 the opportunity to learn valuable basketball skills and prepare them to play the game at more advanced levels.

Over 100 smiling faces have signed up to participate this year and learn the ins and outs of the sport. Games are held every Saturday. The CCRA invites the public to come out and enjoy youth basketball in a friendly; competitive atmosphere. The game schedule for this week is as follows:

7-10 Year Old Division

• 10:00 a.m. Teal vs. Orange
• 12:00 p.m. Red vs. Green
• 2:00 p.m. Blue vs. Burgundy

11-14 Year Old Division

• 1:00 a.m. Red vs. Blue
• 1:00 p.m. Orange vs. Green
