Lunenburg School Board Leader Passes

LUNENBURG – Long-time Lunenburg County School Board official Kathy Coffee passed away on August 16. Coffee was the chairman for the Lunenburg School Board and had been dealing with cancer.

She owned and ran Coffee’s Tax Service and Coffee’s Custom Embroidery, while also starting Coffee Farms in 1979 with her husband, Billy.

She also served on the Lunenburg County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee for over 40 years including serving as the district chair.

Coffee had been the Hounds Creek representative on the school board since 2008.
