Letters to the Editor

Written by on October 4, 2019 at 9:45 am

Dear Editor:

I was reading your last paper volume 16 number 14 and came across Perry’s Ponderings. While I support his view, I would like to take it one step further.  After all the guns have been removed and the criminals run loose, who will be there to protect us? Well, of course, law enforcement. More officers will have to be hired and it means more Revenue will have to be raised (tax hike). But I regress back to more law enforcement.  Now with more officers who have to take an oath to protect the citizenship what will happen if the minority speak out against the current government (law) and take to protesting that is guaranteed by the Constitution, will law enforcement be sent in to re-establish Law and Order? Sort of like what took place in Tiananmen Square, China or now in Venezuela? Enforce the laws that already are on the books, not make new laws that punish law-abiding citizens.

Thank you,

Michael Antonellini

Dear Editor,

This letter is to all landowners within a 15-mile radius of the solar farm site. It is located 1.4 miles east off of Highway 360 on Highway 47.

Some years back there was a plan to put a landfill in about the same area as where the solar farm is located. The landfill location was a topic of major concern due to the possibility that toxic waste could enter the soil and contaminate the wells and streams in the area. Below you will see a list of chemicals that make up the content of a solar panel:

Cadmium Telluride (highly toxic)

Copper Indium Selenide (fluid buildup in lungs)

Cadmium Indium Gallium (fluid buildup in lungs)

Silicon Tetrachloride (highly toxic killing plants and animals)

This report was updated April 30, 2018.

People, our voices need to be heard before there is damage done to our well water, streams and the air we breathe. Please go online and read Toxic Chemicals in Solar Panels before our children and grandchildren pay the price for our lack of knowledge.

Very concerned citizen,

Ricky Lawson
