Lady Chargers Split with Randolph-Henry Statesmen

VICTORIA – The Central Lady Chargers basketball teams hosted Randolph-Henry Friday and the schools split games with the Chargers JV team winning and the Statesmen varsity team getting the victory.

The JV teams opened up the action and the Lady Chargers got out to a quick lead behind the shooting of Nej Yasharie Hardy who had six early points. Central also got strong inside play from De’zyha Edmonds as they pulled away in the second half for a 31-14 win.

The varsity contest went the opposite way on “Senior Night” at Central. The Chargers celebrated their three senior players, Brianna Anderson, Aaliyah Alexander and Savanna Fowler, but Randolph-Henry got several big shots from Taylor Trent and good inside play from Shay Hannah and Misha Clark. The Statesmen took control of the game by halftime and finished with a 33-13 win.
