Jeanne Morgan Thompson Obituary

Jeanne Morgan Thompson, 92, of Kenbridge, Virginia, departed this life on November 20, 2021.  She was predeceased by her parents Norman and Mary Morgan, and her brothers Norman and Ralph Morgan.  

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, William E. “Bill” Thompson, two daughters, Linda Gorhan 

and husband Charles, Hendersonville, NC, and Deborah Hensly and husband Riley, Virginia Beach, Va., 

three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was born and lived in Monmouth County, NJ until moving to Kenbridge 30 years ago where she enjoyed country living like where she had lived in NJ.  

She was a charter member of the Holmdel Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She had a varied employment history with the longest at Holmdel Post Office where she was Assistant Post Master.  She was active in church and various civic organizations throughout her life and enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, crafts of all kinds, and gardening until health issues prevented her from doing so.  She especially enjoyed just being with her family. She was a member of The Victoria Church of the Nazarene.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the church, P.O. Box 376, Victoria, VA  23974.  A service will be held at a later date.
