In Praise of the End of Summer Festival

Dear Editor,

I want to thank everyone involved in the End of Summer Festival this past weekend in Keysville. Especially you, the ladies with the lemonade at the barbecue tent, and the Mayor. My grandson and I attended, and I have never seen him have such a good time. I don’t know what thrilled him the most – the dunking booth, the sand box or the bouncy houses. When he was hot and thirsty after all that playing, he got his first taste of lemonade; I wish you could have seen the smile on his face. The most beautiful sound in the world is a child laughing with joy, and I got to hear plenty of that Saturday thanks to you all.

My only regret was the lack of support from the citizens of the County, they don’t know what they missed. I think a lot of people were at the beach or the lake for the Labor Day weekend, maybe there would be better attendance if it was a week or two later next year. I say that because I hope y’all do it again. Let the ones that didn’t attend know about what they didn’t get to enjoy. Live music, barbecue, beer trailer, crafts, children’s playground and kid’s treats all in OUR county.

Thank you all again for making Saturday a great day for us, please do it again.
