Eagles Boys Get First Round Playoff Win, Girls Drop One Point Game

FARMVILLE – The Prince Edward Eagles varsity boys basketball team won last Friday in their first round of the playoffs against Amelia County by a score of 55-48. The two teams played twice in the regular season with the Raiders winning the first contest and Eagles taking the second. 

Prince Edward took this third contest in the most important of the three and will now advance to the Region Quarterfinals as the eight seed. The Eagles will have to take on the top seeded John Marshall team that has been the top seed throughout the entire season. They will play the game on February 21.

The Eagles girls team came into the playoffs this past weekend as the 7 seed and they played host to the 10 seed Amelia Raiders. This game was back and forth throughout the entire contest with the Raiders holding on to claim a 44-43 win.
