Driver Killed in Burkeville Road Accident

LUNENBURG – The Virginia State Police released information last week about a fatal accident that took place in Lunenburg County.

At 7:42 p.m. on Jan. 19, Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 723 (Burkeville Road) a half-mile north of Route 739.

A 2008 Toyota Scion was traveling north on Route 723 when it entered a curve, ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

The driver, Oscar M. Keller, Jr., 36, of Minot, N.D., died at the scene as a result of the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. According to VSP officials, the crash remains under investigation.
