Chargers Pick up Win Over Franklin

VICTORIA – The Central Chargers varsity baseball team picked up another win last week over the Franklin Broncos 16-0. The Chargers are currently 7-0 on the season heading into spring break week.

Central got a one hitter on the mound from three pitchers in the contest. Logan King got the start and win on the mound while striking out five batters and only giving up one hit. Elijah Pearce pitched one inning of relief with three strikeouts and Robert Hite also picked up three strikeouts on the mound.

Central got three runs in the first inning as Conner Mattox, Seth Bishop and Ryan Allard all reached base. They scored on hits by Hunter Word and Conner Abernathy. In the second inning the Chargers offense got going with 13 runs. Logan Ashworth, King, and Jacob Morris scored during the rally.

Word led the Chargers with three hits on the day and four RBI. Bishop Allard and Mattox all scored three runs for the Chargers.
