Chargers, Eagles, Statesmen Battle on the Golf Course

Sports Pic--statesmen golfThe Central Chargers and Randolph-Henry golf teams are both off to strong starts again this season with several big wins. The two schools battled for the James River District Crown with the Statesmen winning the regular season title and the Chargers winning the tournament title last year.

Early on, it looks as though these two programs will once again lead the district. They played a match along with Prince Edward last week and Randolph-Henry got the early lead in the standings with a victory. R-H shot a team score of 163 while Central shot a 175. Prince Edward finished third in the match with a team score of 214.

Brendan Francisco was the individual leader for R-H as he shot a 39 on the day while Cole Williams from Central was the low shooter in the match with a 37.

The Statesmen are 2-0 in district and 4-0 overall!

 Monday, August 19, 2019 we had to end the match early due to lightening in the area.  We won with a score of 106, Cumberland finished second with 141, and Bluestone third with 142.  We only counted six holes.
