Chargers Beat Brunswick 21-6 in Final Pre-Season Tune-Up

Sports Pic--Chargers Beat 1 Sports Pic--Chargers Beat 2 Sports Pic--Chargers Beat 3VICTORIA – The Central Chargers got one final tune-up on the football field before opening the regular season this Friday night. Central hosted Brunswick County in a Benefit Scrimmage Game last Saturday afternoon and the Chargers came away with a 21-6 victory.

The teams played the starters most of the first half and were able to use their depth in the second half to see everyone in action. Central got one first half touchdown run from Khalil Wood.

Central got a pair of touchdowns in the second half with Tyquan Roberts and Nyjae Carter scoring for the Chargers. Hunter Meade hit all three extra point attempts to account for the CHS scoring.

The Central defense played well with Hunter Meade leading the team in tackles while Carter and Tyler McGrath had interceptions. Mark Strigel added a sack in the game for the Chargers.

Central will host Altavista on Friday night at 7 p.m. for their season opening game.
