Central Tops GW-Danville to Open Season

VICTORIA – The Central Chargers opened their baseball season last week at home against George Washington-Danville in a non-district game for both schools. The Chargers had four pitchers work together for a combined no-hitter. The Central offense was good on the day as well in helping them claim a 26-2 win. 

The Chargers scored 17 runs in the first inning as Robert Hite, Latrell Johnson, Ryan Allard, Connor Mattox, and Logan King all managed two hits for the Chargers.

Central starter Hunter Word worked a perfect first inning as he struck out three batters.  Seth Bishop, Conner Abernathy and Robert Hite finished off the game allowing no hits for the Chargers.
