Central Golf Claims District Championship

VICTORIA – The Central Chargers Golf team and the Randolph-Henry Golf team battled all the way to the end in the regular season with Central taking the victory in their final head to head match-up while shooting a 165 on the day.

The Chargers won the match by ten strokes over the Statesmen, who shot 175 on the day, and Buckingham. The win puts Central at 16-2 for the season and gives them the James River District Regular Season Championship.

This is the first time in nearly two decades that Randolph-Henry has not won the regular season as the Statesmen won that last season while the Chargers won the district tournament. The teams would reverse roles this season as R-H won the tournament with Central finishing in second.

Central team members are Mason Elliott, Hunter Gary, Austin Hall, Robert Hite, Hogan Whitlow, Cole Williams and Coach Richard McDaniel.
