CCRA Basketball Season Ends on a Slam Dunk!

The Charlotte County Recreation Association (CCRA) ended their regular season basketball games on February 28 with an all-day tournament at Central Middle School.

“I’m really proud of all the coaches, parents and volunteers this year that dedicated their Saturdays to the CCRA in order to provide a fun, safe environment for the children of Charlotte County to thrive in,” said CCRA director, James Gregory. “I would like to thank them for their continued service and support.”

After it all was said and done, trophies were awarded to each individual child for participating in the organization throughout the season and season/tournament winners were given trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes in each age category.

Results for the 2014-15 Charlotte County Recreation Association Basketball League season are as follows:

7-10 year old division

Regular Season:

 1st place- Red Squad; coached by Keith Spencer

2nd place-Blue Squad; coached by Lamonté Blount

3rd place- Teal Squad; coached by Boo Simpson

1st place tournament winner: Red Squad; coached by Keith Spencer

11 and up division

Regular Season:

1st place- Teal Squad; coached by Ricky Pannell

2nd place- Green Squad; coached by Mitch Adams

3rd place- Red Squad; coached by Quentin Allen

1st place tournament winner: Green Squad; coached by Mitch Adams
