Carol Gene McKinney Schmidt Obituary

Carol Gene McKinney Schmidt, 83, of Charlotte Court House, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Herman P. Schmidt, and her son, Stephen Richards. Also surviving are her sister, Suzanne Rutledge of Richmond, Va., niece Carroll Joines and nephew Hile Rutledge.

Mrs. Schmidt was an accomplished artist, having had many exquisite, stained glass coloring books for all ages published nationally during the last few years. She will be remembered as a favorite art teacher and mentor in Charlotte County Public Schools.
