Autumn Days Date Change Proves to be a Wise Decision

VICTORIA – “The day went great and this was actually one of the largest crowds we have seen at Autumn Days in quite a while.” This quote from Victoria Town Manager Rodney Newton summed up the positive event that brought many local and out of town people to Victoria on Saturday.

After initially indicating that the Autumn Days even would take place rain or shine the previous week, Victoria officials made the decision to move it back one week and avoid the heavy rains that hit the area on October 8.

That change proved to be wise as last Saturday was a perfect Autumn Day. With many events ranging from 5K’s to lawn mower races and even the truck pull later on, the change also helped local businesses. Several business owners commented that they had lots of activity and many out of town visitors that stopped by and purchased items.

Mr. Newton stated, “Everyone was pleased with the response by everyone even after changing the date and there were lots of good and positive comments following the event.”
