Arza James Byrd Obituary

Arza James Byrd, age 89, of Chase City, Virginia, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born November 26, 1932 in Chase City and was the son of the late Richard S. Byrd and the late Beatrice Hawkins Byrd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Morgan Byrd; brother, Maurice Byrd; and sister, Sylvia Riggins.

Mr. Byrd is survived by his son, James Byrd (Debbie); daughter, Cindy Burrell (Melvin); grandchildren, Ashleigh Byrd, Blake Byrd, and Brianna Burrell; great-grandchildren, Darcie and Savannah; brother, Roland Byrd; and nieces and a nephew.

Arza was a member of Black Branch Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran.
