Youth Turkey Day a success for local family

Last Saturday saw many local turkey hunters hitting the woods with their sons or just local kids who enjoy hunting.

As part of the 2016 Youth Turkey Day event, the Phillips family had a great day in the woods. Noah and Jesse Phillips joined their father, Keith Phillips, who is also the Victoria Police Chief on this first day for the kids and came away with a successful hunt.

They would bag a gobbler that weighed in at 19 ½ pounds and had one inch spurs and a 9 ½” beard.
