Veronica Dixon Obituary

Written by on April 28, 2016 at 10:51 am

On Thursday, April 14th, the angels chose Veronica to begin her eternal rest. She went peacefully at 11:22 a.m. at Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

At a young age Veronica accepted Christ and joined Bethel Baptist Church in White Plains, New York. In later years she moved her membership to the Word of God Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Juan. P. Bautista. She was devoted to her church and was a faithful member even after health began to fail.

Veronica attended White Plains High School, but graduated from Sleepy Hollow High in Tarrytown, New York. After graduating she attended the State University of New York in Plattsburgh, NY, where she received her Bachelor’s degree. She later joined the United States Air Force and served her country for 12 years. While stationed in New Mexico and raising her son, Tarell, she attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. Upon completion, she received her master’s degree in business administration (MBA).

Her greatest joy was her son, Tarell. She enjoyed family gatherings and just being together with family, enjoying good food and having fun.

She leaves to cherish these memories, one son, Tarell Dominique Mills of Fayetteville and Charlotte, North Carolina; her mother, Helena Dixon Brooks and husband, Frederick (Billy) Brooks of Randolph, Va.; and his daughters Delores Miller and Vicky Morton; her sister, Diane Dixon of Mobile, Alabama; five aunts, Frankie Wade of Poughkeepsie, NY, Nannie Monk of Meherrin, Va., Gladys Wiggins of White Plains, NY, Ernestine Patterson and her husband, Rev. Alphonso Dixon and Louis Dixon, and wife Vicky, all of Decatur, GA; and many, many cousins and devoted friends including Rodney and Seante Myers of Fayetteville, NC, Judy Graham of Fayetteville, NC, and Paula Doling of more than 20 years of friendship, Port Chester, NY.
