Town of Keysville Holds End of Summer Festival

KEYSVILLE – The first End of Summer Festival was held at Osborne Park in Keysville this past Saturday. Mayor Steven Morris and the town employees pulled out all the stops to have the park ready for Saturday, and it showed. With shaded play areas for the children and tents in place to accommodate the rain or shine venue, the park was picture-perfect for what many hope will become an annual event.

Bands played throughout the afternoon to a small but dedicated crowd, as attendees enjoyed barbecue plates from Larry Alger and QRC. Three Sisters of Shiney Rock Winery and Budweiser were on hand for adult beverages, while various vendors offered lighter fare.  The dunking booth drew an enthusiastic crowd of supporters who were eager to dunk the willing souls who put their dry clothes on the line to help raise money for the Keysville Volunteer Fire Department. Even though Management was not able to dunk the Editor, Dean Foster’s pitching arm found the target well enough to earn a free e-edition subscription to the Southside Messenger! Way to go, Dean!
