Town of Chase City Celebrates 142nd Birthday

The town of Chase City celebrated 142 years on Sunday, May 17 at the Chase City Pavilion. The Chase City birthday celebration was sponsored by the Chase City Chamber of Commerce and provided an afternoon of fun and entertainment to commemorate the rich history of the town.

DJ Lucas Lenhart filled the air with music as guests enjoyed a variety of activities provided by local vendors. The celebration included food provided by Tom’s Place, civil war displays, arts and crafts vendors, a bake sale and assortment of big trucks. Birthday cake was also served courtesy of local clubs.

According to literature, the Town of Chase City was first known as Christiansville. However, Chase City was officially incorporated in 1873, named for Salmon P. Chase. Chase City is located in Mecklenburg County.
