Teenager Cited for Failure to Yield After Wreck

At 12:33 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of South Main and Reid Streets in Farmville. The driver of a 2017 Jeep Patriot was traveling south bound on South Main Street and turned left onto Reid Street into the path of a 2007 Chevrolet van. The van struck the Jeep in the passenger side door causing the Jeep to overturn onto its side.   The driver of the 2017 Jeep was identified as Justina Streat, age 19, of Burkeville.  Streat was transported to Centra Southside Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no injuries sustained by the driver of the van. Streat was issued a summons for Fail to Yield Right of Way before making a left turn.
