lyleI didn’t get many pics of TPAC but I did get this…these are my two younger, feverish kids. They were well bundled up and stayed warm and dry, but there’s a reason we stand in the rain for the Trucker’s Parade Against Cancer.
This is our small salute to those fighting against cancer, and to those who have lost the fight. I want my kids to see and understand that this is fun, but it’s more than fun–it’s important.
I broke down and cried this year as I noticed how many of the names that were “in Honor” in years past have now lost the fight. Their banners now say “in Memory.”
To all the ones fighting cancer, who have won the fight or who have succumbed, we salute you. We’ll keep fighting for a cure, and honoring your fight!
