Task Force Searching for Red Oak Man

MECKLENBURG – Southside Drug and Gang Task Force and authorities at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office turned up drugs valued at more than $11,000 following the raid of a Red Oak residence.

Task force searchingThis raid took place in early March when Task Force members executed a search warrant at the residence of Darnell Jeffress in Red Oak. The search warrant netted the task force approximately 8 grams of heroin with a street value of $2,000, 118 grams of marijuana valued at $2,360, 64 grams of crack cocaine valued at $6,400, and 40 oxycodone pills valued at $400. Charges have been filed on Jeffress for possession with intent to distribute.

According to reports, Jeffress was not at home at the time. Law enforcement is asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Virginia State Police at (434) 447-4121, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office at (434) 738-6171, Chase City Police Department at (434) 372-4244, Clarksville Police Department at (434) 374-5743, South Hill Police Department at (434) 447-3104, or the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control at (434) 582-5136.

Members of Task Force 3P will continue this investigation.

Task Force 3P is comprised of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, South Hill Police Department, Chase City Police Department, Clarksville Police Department, Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, and the Virginia State Police.
