shine-and-wineCHASE CITY – The second annual Shine & Wine Festival, held on Saturday, September 24 at Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative’s pavilion area in Chase City, saw a crowd of approximately 200+ come through the gates to enjoy the area’s many varieties of wine, distilled spirits and beer (the only area festival to offer all three at one location).

The event began at 12 p.m. with tastings from the area’s finest, including American Way Country Wines, Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery, Silverback Distillery, Three Sisters of Shiney Rock Vineyard and Winery, Bondurant Brothers Distillery and Mattaponi Winery (Native American Indian Winery).

Also on hand with food and products were Yerby’s Honey Farm, Birdie’s Pimento Cheese, Virginia Peanut Company, The Perking House Coffee Company, Light It Up Concessions, Leach Wood Works and Leach Iron Works.

Live entertainment provided by JB & the Get Down Brown’s Band began at 1 p.m. and continued throughout the afternoon.

Plans for next year’s Shine & Wine Festival are already under way and planners of the event look forward to offering another great time on September 23, 2017. To follow festival plans visit www.chasecityevents.org.
