rh-girls-ccCHARLOTTE COURT HOUSE – The Randolph-Henry Cross Country teams played host to district rivals Goochland, Bluestone, and Prince Edward on October 5. The weather was beautiful and the meet was preceded by a small ceremony to honor the five R-H seniors and their families for their last home meet.

The girls race was dominated by Goochland, who took the top four spots. R-H was 2nd and led by senior Alena Latysheva who was 13th overall. Lindy Newcomb, Sarah Grissom, and Nadya Pettus finished immediately behind Latysheva and had strong races.

The boys race was much closer, but still found Goochland victorious. R-H was a solid 2nd overall and was led by Nasheim Pettus (3rd) and Chris Nichols (4th). John Walker, John Wendelin, Michael Nichols, Billy French, and Jacob Barker all ran solid races for the Runnin’ Statesmen.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Alena Latysheva, John Walker, Chris Nichols, Michael Nichols, and Zach Tharpe for all the hard work and dedication they have put into our program. Our love and best wishes will always be with you as you continue in your future endeavors.
