R-H Golf Captures Seventeenth Consecutive District Title

CHARLOTTE COUNTY – The Randolph Henry Golf team wrapped up their 17th consecutive district championship last week and another undefeated season with wins over Bluestone, Nottoway, Goochland and Buckingham.

The R-H squad got a 34 stroke victory over second place Bluestone on last Tuesday at Kinderton Country Club. The team scores were Randolph-Henry-156, Bluestone-190 and Nottoway-191. Leading the Statesmen in individual play were Gunnar Lacks  and Evan Mason who both shot a 38 on the day. Also scoring for R-H were Matthew Myers-40 and Nathan Towery-40.

The team  then traveled to Falling River Country Club where they put on another impressive performance. The team scores were Randolph-Henry-153, Goochland-185 and Buckingham-189. Helping lead R-H on the day were Evan Mason-33, Gunnar Lacks-38, Matthew Myers-41 and George Sandridge-41.

Coach Powell stated, “The 2016 Randolph-Henry Golf Team have completed their district schedule and are District Champions for the 17th consecutive year.  The Statesmen Golf Team have now won 173 consecutive district matches.  I am very proud of the entire team or their accomplishments.  We have two more non-district matches this week and then we will start post season play.”
