Despite High TempDespite high temps 2VICTORIA – With temperatures near triple digits and heat index numbers well above one-hundred, Saturday may not have been the perfect weather situation for the National Day of the Cowboy event in Victoria, but it probably felt like some of the hot days of the past.

Despite the heat, the event still turned out to be a great day for the town, county and attendees as there were plenty of activities, food and entertainment for all ages.

Victoria Town Manager Rodney Newton stated, “Even though it was extremely hot there was a good turnout for the 4th annual National Day of the Cowboy.  The Bar-B-Que cook-off was also a huge success.  Thanks to all of the citizens and businesses that made the event a success.”

With many celebrities, a parade and a live bull riding event put on by Let-R-Buck Bull Riding school, it was once again a great way for Victoria officials to showcase the town and local businesses.

The Let-R-Buck event also saw a large crowd in attendance for the first ever bull riding contest to be held at the Victoria Park.

Town officials offered a note on their website stating, “Thanks to everyone that came to the 4th Annual National Day of the Cowboy in Victoria. It was definitely a hot day but there was a good crowd in attendance. Thanks to all that helped organize the event.”
