Local Departments Respond to Reedy Creek Fire

Local DepartmentsVICTORIA – Victoria Fire and Rescue responded to a fire call last Thursday near Reedy Creek Road and Irby Road.

The incident took place at 10:15 am and involved a piece of equipment at a logging site that had caught on fire. Victoria Fire and Rescue Chief Rodney Newton said that a Keysville area company was operating the machinery at the location when it caught on fire.

Kenbridge Fire Department provided mutual aid and water to Victoria Fire and Rescue during the incident. It took approximately two hours to put out the blaze and secure the area at the fire location.

Chief Newton said that the cause of the fire was not determined at this time.
