The William Taylor Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has donated copies of The General in the Garden: George Washington’s Landscape at Mount Vernon to local libraries.
Merny Erby (left) is shown here at the Victoria Public Library making the presentation to Alicia Hilliard of the library staff. The book contains essays by Adam T. Erby, Associate Curator at Mount Vernon, who examines Washington’s critical role in developing Mount Vernon’s landscape.
Erby, a native of Lunenburg County and son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Erby of Victoria, will discuss and sign copies of the book on Sunday, April 10, at a meeting of the Lunenburg County Historical Society to be held at 2:00 PM at the Ripberger Public Library in Kenbridge. The public is invited.
