Lady Chargers get 4-1 win over R-H

Lady ChargersThe Central Chargers Varsity Softball team recently took on Randolph Henry in double header action with the two teams splitting a pair of competitive contests.

Central would get the better of game one in a 4-1 victory as Kayla Anthony went 2-3 and hit a home run while Hailey Bayne handled Randolph Henry’s lineup while getting six strikeouts.

Randolph Henry would strike first in the game as they got a runner on after a Central error and Maggie Adams doubled to put R-H ahead 1-0.

With defense and pitching dominating, the score would stay that way until the fourth inning. Hailey Bayne had four strike outs through the first three innings and kept the game close with good defense from here teammates.

In the fourth inning, the Lady Chargers would get the bats going as Kayla Anthony started things off with a single. That was followed by a Brittany Dolan single. After Hailey Bayne hit into a fielder’s choice, Central had runners at the corners with Meri Dalton at the plate. Dalton would reach base, while Anthony and Bayne scored to put the Lady Chargers ahead 2-1.

Central would extend that lead in the fifth inning as Emma Hart reached base to lead things off and Anthony hit a home run to give Central a 4-1 lead. The CHS defense would make that hold up as Bayne ended the game with six strikeouts and the Chargers took a 4-1 win.
