KFD Leads Effort to Put Out Lignetics Fire on Sunday

KENBRIDGE – A fire at a local business on Sunday afternoon sent Kenbridge Fire Department rushing to the scene. KFD firefighters were dispatched to 11068 S Hill Rd. just outside of Kenbridge mid-afternoon on June 7.

A fire at Lignetics led to a lengthy response from Kenbridge Fire Department along with help from Victoria Fire & Rescue and South Hill Fire Department. Lignetics is a Kenbridge manufacturing location that makes flammable materials including wood pellets, fire logs, fire starters, wood flour and animal bedding.

The fire reached to the smoke stack at the location and firefighters were able to use their ladder trucks to reach the top of the structure and eventually put out the fire.

KFD officials stated, “We would like to thank Victoria Fire and Rescue and South Hill for the help today. Fire at Lignetics turned out to be a long one.”
