Keysville Ruritan Club Presents 2019 Scholarship

ruritan scholarship winnerCHARLOTTE COUNTY – The Keysville Ruritan Club recently presented McKenzie Sharpe with a $600.00 scholarship. McKenzie is a 2019 graduate of Randolph-Henry High School, where she was enrolled in the dual enrollment program and will be attending Jefferson College of Health Science at Carilion Clinic. McKenzie’s passion is to become a Registered Nurse with a strong desire and love for helping people.

In addition, McKenzie participated in several extracurricular activities at Randolph-Henry. She was Captain of the tennis team her junior and senior year and because of her strong academic performance, she was a member of the Beta Club.

McKenzie worked a part-time job and volunteered at a nursing home in her community, competed in the first annual Barksdale Cancer Foundation Rainbow of Ribbons Pageant. (The Barksdale Cancer Foundation is a Charlotte County based non-profit charity that raises funds to provide Charlotte County citizens who have been diagnosed with cancer financial help.) McKenzie also worked closely with members of her high school in raising money for “Pennies for Patients,” a national Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, raising money for patients with leukemia and lymphoma.
