The Town of Keysville is proud to have selected Mrs. Sheila Dodd Jones of Phenix as the Grand Marshall of the 2013 Christmas parade.

Sheila was born on March 9,1966 to Hampton Dodd and Carroll Hamlett Dodd, both from Charlotte County. She skipped the 11th grade to graduate a year early in 1983 from Amherst County High School. She did this so that she could come to Charlotte County, which she called “God’s Country,” to help her dad run a farm supply business. She worked full time while going to school to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mary Baldwin College in 1990. She has worked in the farming industry full time for 30 1/2 years and counting, including opening a second business in Brookneal, Virginia in 2010. Sheila married Charlotte County native Darrin Jones in 1990 and they have one daughter, Meagan, and 1 granddaughter, Makenna.

When Sheila’s mom passed away from breast cancer in 1997, the whole family became involved with Relay for Life and Sheila has tirelessly dedicated most of her spare time to Relay for Life. In 1998, Sheila started a Relay for Life Team, which evolved into The Truckers’ Parade Against Cancer in 2000. The TPAC team has become a large fundraiser for the Charlotte County Relay. With the help of many team members and the dedicated truckers of Charlotte and the surrounding counties, TPAC has contributed more than $400,000.00 to the American Cancer Society.

Sheila also held the position of Treasurer for the Charlotte County Relay for Life for five years, was on the Relay for Life planning committee, and was a charter member of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce. Her heart has always been with the fight to find a cure and she always has the needs of the Charlotte County community at the forefront of her fundraising efforts. She is proud to call Charlotte County home.

The Town of Keysville invites everyone to come out Friday, December 6 at 7 p.m. and line the streets of Keysville to watch the parade go by. Remember to give Sheila a big wave.
