Kenbridge Enjoys Second Successful July Jubilee Event

News Pic--Front of Lunenburg InsiderKENBRIDGE – The Town of Kenbridge hosted the second annual July Jubilee to celebrate Independence Day locally. The event continued to grow in the second year with additional parade participants and vendors as well as soccer and basketball tournaments taking place.

The town and the Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce organized a July Jubilee and Parade that saw residents line up along 5th Avenue in Kenbridge to enjoy a parade at 9 a.m. The parade included many area organizations and businesses as well as many local children who dressed up and rode their bikes during the event.

After the parade reached Kenbridge Town Park, the other activities began with crafters, food vendors, bounce houses, music, a petting zoo and more. The event even included the 1st Annual Watermelon Contest with Chloe Stamper winning the contest with watermelons donated by A&J Produce.

Kenbridge officials stated, “Thanks to our sponsors, vendors and everyone who came out to enjoy the day.”

Event sponsors included 3 Rivers Treatment Center, Kenbridge Construction, Harris, Matthews & Crowder, P.C., Powell Mechanical Systems, John & Kristin Hite, Wallace Auto Parts, Turning Point Healing Retreat Center, Inc., Smith’s Pharmacy, Janie Singletary, Benchmark Community Bank, Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce, Tommy Wright, ABC Recycling, Inc., and Virginia Defense Force.
