James “Jamie” Newcomb, III

James “Jamie” Edward Newcomb, III, age 51 of Randolph, Virginia, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Carter Newcomb; a son, James “Jay” E. Newcomb, IV; a daughter, Katie Elizabeth Newcomb; his parents, J. E. and Elaine Newcomb, Jr.; a sister, Cathy Jo Newcomb Palmer and husband David.

Jamie was a tobacco farmer and worked for a number of years for Lewis Tree Service.  He was a lifetime member of Hebron United Methodist Church.  Jamie was a devoted grounds keeper for the cemetery and churchyard.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Hebron United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.   The family received friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  Donations may be made to Hebron U. M. C. Cemetery Fund or The Barksdale Cancer Foundation.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
