Holly Skelton Sentenced

Prison Time and Restitution Ordered

holly skeltonFormer Charlotte Court House town clerk Holly Skelton was sentenced in Charlotte County Circuit Court on Wednesday.

Skelton was charged with 30 counts including embezzling public funds, forgery, fraud and Grand larceny.  On October 5, 2016 she was indicted by a grand jury.  She was arrested on October 7, 2017 and released on bond.

On March 15, 2017 Skelton pled guilty to six counts of Grand larceny with the remainder of the charges being nolle prossed.

Skelton was sentenced to 18 years in prison with all but six months suspended.  She is required to pay a total restitution of $69,904.39 at $250.00 per month for 20 years.

On the same day, Skelton was also convicted on an additional charge of Grand larceny in a case not relating to the Town of Charlotte Court House. On that charge she was sentenced to three years in prison with all three years suspended.
