George Alfred Anderson, 82, Boydton

George Alfred Anderson, 82, of Boydton, died February 7, 2014. He was a Navy veteran, a retired employee of Virginia Department of Corrections, and a member of Mecklenburg Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda, his son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Jacqueline Anderson, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and A.D. Harris, all of Boydton, sister, Ann Anderson of Buffalo, NY, grandchildren, George Anderson, Jr., Stephanie Gordon, Jacob Harris, and Matthew Short, great-grandchildren, Charlotte Gordon, Mallory Gordon, Peyton Anderson, and Aubrey Anderson. The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00 pm Sunday at Wood Funeral Service. Services will be held 2:00pm Monday at Mecklenburg Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Boydton Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mecklenburg Baptist Church (Cross Creek Camp) 2097 Daniels Road, Boydton VA 23917.
