Former Farmville Police Officer, Timothy A. “T.J.” Long of Keysville has been sentenced following his trials in Charlotte and Prince Edward Counties on charges of arson and assaulting a police officer.

At the original October 9th hearing In Charlotte County, Long entered a plea of guilty to his arson charge. On December 19th, he was sentenced by the Charlotte County Circuit Court to 25 years with 15 suspended, 25 years good behavior and active supervised probation for 5 years upon being released.

The Prince Edward County judicial system amended Long’s initial attempted murder charge to “assaulting a police officer.” Long was sentenced on December 20th to 20 years and 12 months with 16 years and 12 months suspended.
